Public Improvement Fee Disclosure

For Retail Sales of Taxable Merchandise:

NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS
In addition to state and local sales taxes, your purchase will include a 4.875% public improvements fee - or “PIF”, but the normal 3.75% City sales tax rate on taxable goods has been reduced to  1.875%. The PIF funds construction of roads, street lights, utilities and other infrastructure improvements serving The Canyonside at Castle Pines. The PIF is not government tax. It is a privately imposed fee. Your receipt shows the amounts of the PIF and the sales taxes you are paying. Please note that the PIF is also subject to certain state and local sales taxes.
