PICKLER’S PARADISE

FOR THE LOVE OF SPORT

Grab a paddle, step onto the court, and kickstart a passion that gets stronger with every swat!

AN INVITING COMMUNITY.

Where paddles are popping and people enjoy a little healthy competition.

WHAT A WORKOUT

Both aerobic, getting heart rate up, and anaerobic, with short intense bursts building muscle. The amount of people who talk about how weight just falls off is mind-numbing.

More cushion means more court time.

Our courts are made with Laykold surfaces which layer-in a generous amount of gel to minimize impact on the knees, hips and back, keeping you on the court for longer.

your HAPPY PLACE

Good to know

IT REALLY IS FOR EVERYONE

One of the appeals of pickleball is its inclusivity. It’s pretty easy to pick up, making it accessible to beginners, yet can get competitive at higher levels. You’ll see so many generations playing at Life Time. Why not join them?

HOW DID IT BEGIN?

Back in 1965, on Bainbridge Island in Washington, three buddies named Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum got together and came up with something really cool. Today, there’s even a dedicated national governing body, and the likes of Bill Gates love to play.

BUT WHY’S IT CALLED PICKLEBALL?

There’s no straight answer. Some people swear it’s because of the Pritchard family dog, Pickles, who would go all out chasing those runaway balls during their early games. But hey, not everyone buys into that tale!

LEARN THE LINGO

Pickleball's got its very own language, full of quirky words like ‘dinking,’ which is just a fancy way to say making a soft, controlled shot over the net. And then there's the "Erne" move – that's when a player goes all ninja and jumps to the side of the court to swat the ball before it hits the ground. Learn the moves, win the game.

Our members say

“People just invite you to play and conversations start naturally when you’re waiting for a court. There’s a lot of high fives, good hearted banter, an occasional curse and a whole lot of laughter. Even if you’re new, you feel connected through the game.”
